The Greater Milwaukee Young Adult League invites you to Vespers and a meal and discussion, the topic which is the following:

What does Great Lent mean to you? How to understand and make the most of Great Lent

Many of us have grown up knowing that there is an important period of preparation before the great feast of the Resurrection of the Lord known as Great Lent. Still there seem to be many different ways that the faithful approach this prelude to the Holy Day of Holy Days. When we look at other traditions we hear of others “Giving up something for Lent.” Do we do this? Is it enough? What is the original intention behind this Great and Holy Church Tradition? Our own Holy Tradition speaks of a “True Fast” that is neither morose nor punitive.

Rather than presenting us with a list of what not to do, the Faith of the Saints gives us a list of positive things we can do with great joy during the journey of Great Lent as we prepare to receive our Resurrected Lord with the triumphant cry “Christ is Risen!”

Come to the discussion ready to share your own observations and experiences of Great Lent as well as to embrace a renewed outlook on this sacred journey.

Please RSVP to Vivian Limberatos or 414-588-7969 or at”
